Quality Control Supervisor

Job Description

Manage area of responsibility to meet schedule and budget requirements. Create a departmental attitude aimed at continuous improvement and pride. Ensure that operations are conducted in compliance with policies, procedures, instructions, and standards. Responsible for quality assurance programs and daily functions of quality control department.


DUTIES:

Plan, prioritize, and schedule daily workflow within the department(s).
Recommend the purchase of tools and equipment to improve and maintain daily production; ensure tools and equipment are in satisfactory operating condition and maintained.
Plan and implement process improvement activities with manager approval.
Encourage employees to work collaboratively and use their skills to maintain and improve quality and productivity.
Encourage employees to be creative and gather ideas for productivity and quality improvements.
Be involved with the hiring and training process of employees for the department.
Evaluate employees’ abilities and work habits and hold them accountable.
Maintain all consumables at appropriate stock; replenish levels.
Proactively plan for fixtures and tooling as needs arise.
Estimate time for active shop orders.
Ensure all employees are certified as tasks and responsibilities designate.
Maintain and revise training aids to stay current with department processes.
Back-up other supervisors in their absence.
Troubleshoot problems, determine best course of action, and implement.
Maintain and improve good morale through communication and action.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Monitor and maintain employee timecards to ensure accuracy.
Maintain a system for controlling measurement and test equipment.
Provides coordination for required laboratory testing as needed.
Carries out policies and procedures for inspection material and product through all phases of manufacturing to ensure material and product meet engineering and performance specifications.
Carries out inspection function to support receiving or incoming inspection, in-process inspection, product inspections, and releases.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent
5 years minimum of experience working in quality control and use of measurement equipment
Previous experience in a supervisory or management role
Metrology experience preferred

Annual salary based on skill level and previous work experience

Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 per YEAR
