Day Habilitation Work Supervisor

Monday - Friday
8am - 2pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Provide general supervision of work experience area:
  • Assigned appropriate difficulty of task to employee after ascertaining functional level;
  • Supervise employee's activities and meet needs throughout the program day;
  • Order specific supplies for area;
  • Purchase specialty materials for area;
  • Assure flow and quality of production activities in area;
  • Keep necessary records for area;
  • Distribute notes and information to employees;
  • Develop specific schedule for work areas.
2. Work with employees, other staff, parents and other appropriate individuals to resolve conflicts, misunderstandings and problems. and develop and carry out programs.
  • Notify Program Director of chronic, unusual or severe problems or behaviors'
  • Contact and work with parents on resolving incidental or minor situations as necessary;
  • Cooperate with Program Director, other staff and parents in instituting recommendations.
3. Develop goals and objectives or employees' IPP that relate to work experience and carry such programs out. Be aware of total needs of employees in programs, homes and community.
4. Assist in meeting local, state, and federal requirements.
5. Notify Program Director of general program facility and equipment needs, problems or required repairs.
6. Make recommendations and provide feedback to Program Director; i.e., general program or specific area and provide Program Director with information for reports.
7. Uphold the policies, procedures and practices of Arc Baton Rouge, Metro Enterprises.
8. Work with practicum students and volunteers to provide them with effective and meaningful involvement.
9. Maintain working knowledge of innovative techniques and research in the field and participate in workshops and in-service training services.
10. Form a cooperative team approach with assistant sharing responsibilities and duties in an equitable manner.
11. Other related duties as designed by the Metro Enterprises Program Director.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to lift up adults weighing at least 100 lbs.;
2. Ability to push, pull, and resist up to 65 lbs.;
3. Ability for prolonging standing, sitting, bending, and squatting;
4. Ability to assist clients with personal hygiene;
5. Ability to assist with aggressive behaviors if necessary;
6. Ability to assist with feeding if necessary.
