Job Title: Instructional Technologist
Salary: $75,000 Annual Salary, Benefits available

POSITION SUMMARY
The employee in
this role will provide instructional technology support to faculty and
curriculum coordination staff in the continued improvement of courses, driving
consistency of student experience in Canvas and other software tools, educating
faculty on the various technology tools, software, LMS plugins, extensions and
modules to facilitate specific student learning and assessment outcomes. The
Instructional Technologist is a key contributor to the ongoing development of
Noorda-COM's innovative approach to medical education.
POSITION RESPONSIBLITIES
- LMS and Educational Software Administration
- Facilitate and support faculty and staff use of the
LMS (Canvas) as a collaborator in the ongoing development of Noorda-COM’s
unique educational model.
- Coordinate between faculty, curriculum staff, media
team and subject matter experts to incorporate high-quality interactive
educational content into the LMS or other content delivery platform(s).
- Conduct training sessions (1:1 and workshops) for
instructors on the use of the LMS and help drive effective use and
adoption of the platform and its modules.
- Contribute as a facilitating member of Noorda’s
evolving Instructional Design team/function.
- Engage with individual faculty members to identify
what tools and technologies best leverage their unique teaching styles and
strengths.
- Maintain a portfolio of software, teaching
technologies, and resources and track their use by faculty and students.
- Collaboratively implement and support student
logistics systems such as the Learning Pod scheduling system and
attendance tracking systems.
- Crosstrain and collaborate as a team with MIT
technical staff and curriculum staff, to ensure consistent support and
maintenance of software platforms and systems.
- Work with the instructional design team in
administering surveys and other formal and informal feedback mechanisms
and assessments to gauge the effectiveness of teaching technologies.
- Research and explore new learning technology and
function as an innovation resource to the instructional design team and
faculty, in incorporating new technologies into the student experience.
- Make recommendations for tools and approaches to
enhance the educational value of course materials or improve efficiency of
the production process.
- Participate in external networks of educational
technologists, curriculum designers, educators, and other professionals.
- Develop and establish solid working relationships
with faculty, curriculum administration, and media production staff.
- Ensures the application of appropriate standards to
all courses and programs in areas such as outcome assessment, assistive
technologies, and accessibility. This is accomplished by utilizing current
training and guidelines to create an exceptional student experience, meet
institutional needs, and cooperate with divisions responsible for
regulatory compliance.

responsibilities as assigned.
Education
and Certification:
- College degree in Education, Technology,
Instructional Design or a related field. Sufficient years of
relevant experience and certifications may be substituted for a formal
degree.
Preferred
Experience:
- Experience administering a Learning Management System
(LMS) or e-learning platforms.
- Experience with flipped classroom environments.
- Experience with multimedia elements, especially
video, in the digital delivery of lectures and educational content.
- Experience in health professions education a plus but
not required.
- Background or experience in data-driven learning and
student behavior analytics highly desirable, or a willingness and capacity
to engage with technical staff regarding data analytics and machine
learning.
- A passion for education and student experience.
- Strong technical aptitude with learning management
systems and related modules and software.
- Excellent communication, presentation, listening and
project management skills.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and
independently on multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- A good sense of humor, creativity, and ability to
enjoy working together in service to students.
Must be:

to lead by influence and effectively communicate with various
constituencies across the college.

The Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking qualified candidates to support our unique, innovative curricular model designed for a modern-day medical school. We have received pre-accreditation status with the Commission for Osteopathic College Accreditation and have three cohorts of medical students (totaling more than 400 students) enrolled in Spring 2024. Located in the beautiful Utah Valley in Provo, the campus is surrounded by the Wasatch Mountain range and Utah Lake. In September of 2023, we moved into our, state-of-the-art, 140,000 square foot academic building.
