Position Summary
The Chiropractor is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients of all ages, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The Chiropractor will follow professional, ethical guidelines in compliance with the mission, vision and values of Petersburg Medical Center.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' conditions through physical examination, medical histories, and diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including spinal manipulation, adjustments, and other therapies.
- Offer advice on exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle changes to support patients' health and wellness goals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Stay current with the latest research and techniques in chiropractic care.
Qualifications / Special Skills
Education
- Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree from an accredited institution.
- Strong knowledge of chiropractic principles and techniques.
- Excellent at communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in an integrated care, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Commitment to delivering patient-centered care.
License
Licensed to practice chiropractic care in the State of Alaska.
Experience and / or Training
- Demonstrated expertise in chiropractic services.
- Maintains current knowledge and skills with continuing education. Must meet all training requirements for specific department. Experience in a clinical setting.
- Certification in specialized techniques.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), coding and billing.
Special Skills / Demands
Computer experience required. Able to work varied hours. Ability to perform physical requirements of the job.
Physical Requirements
Moderate lifting (no greater than 25 pounds), standing, walking and handling of clients, equipment and supplies.
Job Relationships
The Chiropractor reports to the Medical Director with input from the Petersburg Medical Center CEO.
Employment Requirements
- Must have a valid Chiropractic license in the State of Alaska.
- Must be able to pass a State of Alaska Background Check and drug screen (including Marijuana).
