Position Overview

The IT Technician will be expected to test, build, repair and diagnose all types of devices including, but not limited to, desktops, laptops, mobility (cell phones and tablets), servers, switches, and routers. You will aid with internal IT support issues as well as supporting the refurbishing operation.

This role requires you to work at a fast pace, efficiently, and make accurate diagnoses of assets.

Our ideal candidate will be trusted to dive right in, using years of experience in IT.

Laptop repair experience is required.

This role will report to the Director of Technology.

Responsibilities:

● Check, sort, and triage incoming inventory for resale and ensure that it meets sales criteria.
● Test all products through the proper testing procedure. Refurbish or replace parts that fail. Types of products include, but are not limited to: Servers, networking equipment, phones, tablets, TVs, gaming consoles, video projectors, and audio equipment.
● Install operating system (OS) to computer products per procedure.
● Manage up to 40 devices, testing and wiping simultaneously.
● Light disassembling of mobile devices and tablets.
● Flex into other job roles from time-to-time as production demands dictate.
● Systematically capture attributes of electronic assets.
● Maintain an adequate workflow to meet daily goals.
● Identify parts that can be kept for in-house refurbishing and resale. Organize the area for parts being stored.
● Accurately input descriptions of laptops into the inventory sheet along with proper labeling.
● Clean area and dust if needed. Put all tools away at the end of the day.
● Perform data destruction of data-bearing devices (ex. hard drives, solid state drives, DVR, etc.), erasing sensitive data from all electronics.
● Reset or erase ownership information on switches, routers, business phones, and other devices
● Work with the Sales team to evaluate the feasibility to repair and/or upgrade assets.
● Offer technical support to company staff and troubleshoot computer problems.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required
Associate’s Degree in technology or related preferred - Additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience with Microsoft Windows, Server, and Apple Mac OS
Experience with computer repair
● A+ and/or other technical certificates considered
