SBBC provides ABA therapy & behavior support interventions in-school & in-home to improve social skills, academics, vocational skills, functional skills, & communication. This is accomplished through the use of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) & in collaboration with other specialists, school staff, the students we serve, & caregivers. SBBC is student-oriented. Mission: We are a team of professionals and experts in Applied Behavior Analysis who partner with & equip individuals with autism spectrum disorder, caregivers, community support staff, and/or school team members to gain the skills needed to reach their full potential. Vision: We envision individuals with autism spectrum disorder throughout East Central Indiana gaining access to more inclusive settings and having greater autonomy in life, as a result of SBBC’s service provision. Responsible for providing skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with autism, serious emotional disabilities and other developmental disabilities in the school, home, and/or community settings, under the direction of a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). The ABA therapist will collect data on programs, assist with staff training, and assist with assessments as needed. As an RBT, ABA therapy implementation services are required for approximately 10-15 hours per week. Directly implement prescribed individual programs, treatment plans, behavior intervention plans and/or group programs utilizing ABA strategies and interventions. Provide direct care and supervision of clients receiving services to ensure health and safety. Read, understand, and implement behavior change protocols and teaching techniques Accept feedback and ongoing training and implement it in client therapy sessions. Accurately collect, record and summarize data as prescribed. Document interventions, progress data, session notes Immediately report to BCBA any student incidents/variances or complaints. Communicate with staff and/or caregivers regarding student progress as instructed by the BCBA. Establishes & maintains therapeutic relationship by pairing self as a reinforcing entity and building the value for the client of social interaction with the RBT. Maintain confidentiality and follow workplace policies. Attend work and arrive in a timely manner. Assist with skill acquisition and behavioral assessments. Assist with preparing materials as necessary. Collaborate with school teams and attend meetings as necessary. Participate in in-service programs. Maintain a clean work environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Required: High School diploma or equivalent; Preferred: Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education or related field Required Work Experience: One year experience implementing ABA in the natural environment OR Two years experience in a school setting, working with students with behavior challenges (including students with Autism, SED and other developmental disabilities) Required: Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) Annual renewal and registration must be maintained throughout employment. Preferred: CPR and CPI Certification To ensure a safe and secure environment for our clients and staff, successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening. Continuation of employment may involve periodic rescreening, ensuring adherence to our ongoing safety and compliance standards The RBT reports to an assigned supervising provider. The physical demands, work environment factors and mental functions described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Therapists must effectively analyze behavioral data, communicate with team members and clients, and use problem-solving skills to adapt therapy in real-time. Therapists need to maintain close and distance vision, including adjusting focus, to monitor clients' responses and adapt interventions accordingly. Work in environments where noise levels vary from moderate to loud due to active client interactions. Therapists should demonstrate sufficient mobility and strength to implement safety interventions when necessary, following behavioral safety protocols. Therapists must possess the stamina and coping skills to manage potentially stressful and emotionally charged situations that arise in therapy.Summary

SBBC provides Home & School-Based ABA therapy, Early Learners ABA Clinic for ages 2-6, and Comprehensive Behavior Support through Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation for adolescents, young adults, and beyond. SBBC is committed to helping those we serve “reach new heights” through the use of ABA & in collaboration with other specialists, school staff, caregivers, & the students we serve.
SBBC performs a variety of behavioral assessments, develops individualized behavior intervention & skill acquisition plans, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, including caregivers, advocates for the greatest level of inclusion, & supports schools in providing a free & appropriate education (FAPE) for all students.
