Environmental Services Supervisor - TRH

Job Description

Performs and supervises environmental services and supervises the floor maintenance staff to provide for a clean and safe facility.

Job Duties:
  • Environmental Services Manager utilizes his / her training and experience to supervise a wide range of functions within the healthcare setting and performs as needed
  • Including, but are not limited to: sweeping, mopping , dusting, cleaning bathrooms, disposal of waste material, cleaning equipment and storing it, moving furniture, mixing chemicals, linen distribution delivering supplies, observing isolation precautions, and interacting with patients, families, and visitors
  • Supervises the stripping, waxing, buffing of floors
  • Interviews, hires and orients staff for the EVS department
  • Maintains cost records established by the Healthcare Facility administration
  • Insures that sanitation and safety standards are maintained above levels that are acceptable according to State and Federal regulations
  • Weekly payroll, scheduling and management of your budgets
  • Develops, writes and schedules all EVS employees’ work schedules
  • Participates in Infection Prevention Program Activities
  • Supervises a staff of approximately 15 to 20 employees
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions

  • Organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity

  • Holds staff meetings as needed to keep all members informed
  • Must possess effective communication skills and a positive and supportive attitude to promote teamwork in the workplace
  • Must be able to work well with department personnel, physicians, and ancillary department staff

Education:
High school diploma or GED highly desired.

Training/Experience:
Prior experience highly desired.
