Position Location: 1511 Pearl St, Waukesha, WI 53189

Position Hours: FULLTIME 2nd Shift 2:00 PM -10:30 PM (Monday - Friday)

Position Wage: Starting at $20 per hour (plus based on experience) 17% shift premium included

Job Description:

The Press Quench Operator is responsible for the successful daily operation of the press quench work cell. The day will begin with reviewing the furnace schedules in our Bluestreak ERP system. The jobs to be processed will be retrieved by forklift and brought to the word area. The work instructions contain the information for the needed tooling that can then be retrieved and installed into the press. After verifying the press has been set up correctly, the parts will need to be loaded into the furnace with the overhead part handling system. Once loaded, the furnace will need to be programmed and monitored to ensure it runs correctly. After the parts have finished with the heating cycle, they will need to be unloaded and go through a two in one pressing and quenching operation. When the press and quench process is complete, dimensional measurements will be taken and then the parts can be prepared for the next operations. This position requires good attention to detail as the parts need to comply with specific requirements.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all tooling is properly stored and organized according to procedures
  • Setup press quench machines according the work schedule of the cell
  • Setup reheat furnaces to proper parameters
  • Run work according the press quench cell schedule
  • Perform all necessary quality checks for hardness & critical dimensions
  • Input all necessary part data into Bluestreak system
  • Track all parts through Bluestreak system during processing
  • Note any quality concerns that arise during operation via the Bluestreak nonconformance system
  • Notify maintenance staff for any equipment quality issues
  • Package parts according to customer requirements
  • Ensure plant organization and cleanliness

Minimum Requirements:

All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test & background check.


Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Acquire/maintain forklift certification

Experience: Prior machining experience and/or tooling/machine set up

Hard Skills:

  • Understand Bluestreak & Microsoft Office software & use it efficiently
  • Proficient physical shape- able to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly
  • Fluent in English (reading & speaking)
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Can operate measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other gauging equipment
  • Competent print reading
  • Basic math knowledge
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Safety-focused mindset
