Position Location: 305 Travis Ln, Waukesha, WI 53189

Position Hours: FULLTIME 2nd Shift: M-F (2 PM - 10:30 PM)

Position Wage: Starting at $20 per hour (plus based on experience)
17% shift premium included for 2nd

Job Description:
The Vacuum Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe & efficient operation of all Vacuum cell equipment. Properly scheduling work to be done, inspecting, loading, unloading, programing & monitoring furnaces will be the focus for this role. Promptly reporting any concerns to the shift foreman will be crucial as well.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Follow schedules and process work to exceed Customer requirements
  • Assess alloy needs and fixtures and report issues to supervision
  • Fill out daily cell check list
  • Responsible for daily walk through with prior shift
  • Loading and operating all equipment within Vacuum Department Cell
  • Responsible for the following set up and monitoring at a minimum –
o Temperature controller
o Over-temperature controller
o Chart recorders
o Furnace thermo-couples
o Proper gas flows including the following –
▪ Acetylene gas
▪ Ethylene gas
▪ Hydrogen gas
▪ Nitrogen gas
▪ Ammonia gas
  • Oil temperature monitoring – cooling / heating / levels
  • Agitation monitoring
  • Proper loading and racking of parts to minimize distortion
  • Understand tempering guidelines based off of actual AQ hardness readings Vacuum Department Operator
  • Learn start up, loading and shut down procedures for each piece of equipment in cell
  • Operations of cryo-genic boxes including the following – o Loading and unloading o Temperature controller settings o Start up / shut down
  • Determine proper inspection location for AQ testing per
o ASTM E-18 Rockwell hardness testing
o ASTM E-10 Brinell hardness testing
o ASTM A 956 Leeb hardness testing
  • Tagging & Transfer Procedure
  • Ensure plant organization and cleanliness
Minimum Requirements:
All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test & background check.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Acquire/maintain forklift certification
Experience: Prior factory work preferred
