Position: Homeless and Housing System Engagement Program Coordinator, Senior
Salary Range: $5,703.00/month to $7,644.00/month; Starting Salary DOQ, DOE

Brief Duties and Responsibilities: Exercises initiative and professional judgement with innovative program planning, development, and stakeholder coordination for a county wide response to end homelessness in Walla Walla County. Facilitates stakeholder engagement and provides direction and work coordination to assigned staff. Works collaboratively with cities, federal/state agencies, and local stakeholders to plan and implement system change. Responsible for the organization and maintenance of the various programs, grant-funded services and services supported by local funding sources in Walla Walla County. Serves as lead coordinator and liaison with funding agencies at the State and/or Federal level Departments, Divisions or Administrations and local service providers, stakeholders, advisory boards, or committees for homeless and housing programs. Aids community stakeholders and coalitions and helps guide the continuous development and implementation of evidence-based practices to support housing and homelessness programs throughout the County. Requires sustained attention to detail, analytical and creative thought, and the ability to prioritize and work with a variety of issues at the same time. Responsible for ensuring data is collected, analyzed and ensuring data integrity which entails working closely with epidemiologists and other data sources. Leads process to solicit grant applications for the program, writes Request for Proposals for grant funding, and oversees subcontracting and monitoring for program. Performs community outreach and public speaking as requested to facilitate knowledge of issues, barriers, goals and programming.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position supervises program staff and any assigned interns or volunteers.

Working Environment/Physical Abilities: The working environment includes activities in multiple department venues. Physical abilities required for this position are ones typically related to office and field operations, sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and lift up to 20 pounds. Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computers, other office equipment, accessing file cabinets both on and off site, and sufficient hearing and speech ability to communicate verbally, and the ability to drive a motor vehicle.

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience And Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Services, Public Health, Health Education, or other closely related field or combination of education, experience and training that provides the skill level required above. Five (5) years of relevant experience with programs for the homeless or those at risk of homelessness; or combination of education and experience which would provide the desired knowledge, skills, and training to meet the requirements for the position. Licenses And Other Requirements: Maintain professional continuing education. Maintain the principles of confidentiality. Maintain a current driver’s license and vehicle insurance. Access to a vehicle during work hours. Participate in the employee health program. Must successfully pass a background check and a driving record check.
